Cast video to Google TV from PC
Google TV sets have Cast built into the software, so there is nothing to plug in and nothing to install on the television.
Whatever is on your PC goes on the television, in full 4K HDR, with your subtitles on screen. You do not need to know what is inside your files, convert anything beforehand or change a single setting. Press cast, pick your Google TV, sit down.
Which files can I cast?
Because AIX Player decodes the file on your PC first, what your Google TV can or cannot read stops mattering. MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, TS, M2TS and WebM all cast the same way, and nothing needs converting the night before.
How does it connect to your Google TV?
AIX Player talks to your Google TV over the Cast protocol that is already part of the system. The set appears in the cast list under the name you gave it during setup, usually within a second or two of opening the list.

Open the video and set it up how you want it
Pick the audio track, choose the subtitles and style them for a room rather than a laptop. Everything you set now travels with the picture.

Press cast and choose your Google TV
AIX Player scans the network and lists what it finds by name. When more than one device could take the film, it marks the one it ranks highest for that television.

Sit down — your PC is the remote
Play, pause, seek, change volume, switch subtitle or audio track and disconnect, all from the AIX Player window. Nothing is mirrored, so you can carry on using the PC.
Devices appear on their own — nothing to pair by hand, nothing to type in.
Will my subtitles show on the TV?
Google TV can display subtitle tracks it recognises, but a separate subtitle file sitting next to your video is not one of them — it was never part of the video, so it stays behind on the PC.
AIX Player solves that by painting the subtitles onto the frames before they travel. What arrives at the Google TV already carries the text, at the size, colour and outline you chose.
What if my TV refuses the file?
A Google TV handles a wide range of files directly, which is why casting to one is usually seamless. When something does fall outside what it reads, AIX Player converts only that part while the film streams, using your graphics card.

My Google TV is not showing in the cast list
Check it is on standby rather than fully off. A Google TV on standby still answers a network scan; powered down at the wall it cannot. Also make sure the set and your PC share the same network, not a guest one.
Is it named after the room or the model?
Usually the room. Most people name a Google TV during setup after where it lives, so look for "Living Room" rather than a manufacturer name in the cast list.
Can I still use the TV remote while casting?
Control it from the PC. Play, pause, seek, volume and subtitle switching all work from the AIX Player window while the film plays on the television.
Does casting to Google TV keep subtitles?
Yes, every time. Subtitles are drawn into the picture before it leaves your PC, so they arrive on the set regardless of what it supports — external files included.
