Cast video to a Samsung Smart TV from PC
Samsung smart TVs running Tizen are paired directly by AIX Player, using the television’s own software rather than a generic fallback.

Which files can I cast?
Samsung sets are capable with their own supported formats and unhelpful outside them. AIX Player takes that decision away by decoding on your PC, so MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, TS, M2TS and WebM all cast identically.
How does it connect to your Samsung TV?
AIX Player discovers Tizen sets on the network and hands them the video to decode. Because nothing is mirrored, the TV gets the film rather than a copy of your screen, and the sound stays in step with the picture.
What to expect on a Samsung TV
- Plays directly: H.264, HEVC, MPEG-2, VP8, VP9 and AV1 video, up to 2160p (4K) at 60 frames per second on the models that support it.
- HDR formats: none are listed for Samsung TVs in AIX Player’s device catalogue.
- HDR: HDR stays HDR when the TV can play the file directly; otherwise the picture is converted to SDR for the TV.
- Sound: a file the TV plays directly keeps its own soundtrack; every stream AIX Player converts carries AAC sound.
- Subtitles: the subtitle you choose in AIX Player shows on the TV.
- Casting allowance: the free app includes 60 casting minutes in total, once, not per session; AIX Pro makes casting unlimited.

How do I cast it? Three steps

Open the video and set it up how you want it
Open it from your PC’s drive or a USB or SD drive, then pick the audio track and choose the subtitle. The soundtrack and subtitle you choose are the ones the TV gets.

Press cast and choose your Samsung TV
AIX Player scans the network and lists what it finds by name. When more than one device could take the film, it marks the one it ranks highest for that television.

Sit down — your PC is the remote
Play, pause, seek, change volume, switch subtitle or audio track and disconnect, all from the AIX Player window. Nothing is mirrored, so you can carry on using the PC.

Will my subtitles show on the TV?
Samsung televisions cannot reach a subtitle file kept on your PC, and Tizen supports only some subtitle types even when they are inside the video.
AIX Player takes care of it. Choose a subtitle in the player, a track inside the video or a separate file you added, and that subtitle shows on the Samsung TV. The subtitles when casting guide has the details.
What if my TV refuses the file?
Samsung sets tend to accept modern files and refuse older or unusual ones. AIX Player asks what yours can handle, then converts only that portion while the film streams.

Can I cast from a Windows PC to a Samsung TV?
Yes, directly. AIX Player discovers Samsung Tizen sets on your network and hands them the video to decode — no dongle, no stick, nothing extra to install on the television.
Why can my PC not find my Samsung TV?
Same network, and awake. Guest Wi-Fi and split-band networks keep the two apart. A set on standby answers a scan; one switched off at the wall does not.
Do I need SmartThings or any Samsung app?
No. There is nothing to pair through a phone app and no code to type. The set appears in the cast list by itself; the first time you connect, the television shows an “Allow AIX Player?” prompt that you accept once with the remote.
Will subtitles show on my Samsung TV?
Yes, for supported subtitle formats. The subtitle you choose in AIX Player shows on the TV, including a separate subtitle file you added.
