Which files can I cast?
LG smart TVs play a decent range of files from a USB stick, but casting is a different path with tighter limits. AIX Player removes the difference by decoding on the PC, so MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, TS, M2TS and WebM all arrive playable.
How does it connect to your LG TV?

Devices appear on their own. The first connection asks you to allow AIX Player on the LG set itself — accept it once with the remote.
Will my subtitles show on the TV?
A subtitle file on your PC is invisible to an LG set, and the subtitle types built into webOS do not cover everything you are likely to have downloaded.
AIX Player avoids the issue entirely by rendering subtitles onto the picture first. The television receives them as part of the image, styled the way you set them.
What if my TV refuses the file?
LG sets handle common files well and stumble on the heavier ones. AIX Player checks first and converts only the part that needs it, so the film starts straight away rather than after a wait.

Can I cast from PC to an LG TV without a Chromecast?

Why is my LG TV not showing up?
Check the network and that the set is on standby. Both devices must be on the same network — guest Wi-Fi hides the set entirely. A television switched off at the wall cannot answer a scan.
Does 4K HDR reach an LG OLED properly?
Yes, where the set supports it. HDR and 10-bit are sent through rather than flattened, so an OLED shows the film at the range it was graded for.
Is wired better than Wi-Fi for my LG TV?
Noticeably, for large files. Most LG sets have an Ethernet port. Using it takes the television off Wi-Fi entirely and makes high-bitrate 4K far more stable.
Can I control playback from my PC while it plays on the LG TV?
Yes — your PC is the remote. Play, pause, seek, volume and subtitle switching all work from the AIX Player window while the film plays on the television.
