Green, pink or distorted video on Windows?
A green, pink or broken picture can involve the graphics decoding path, driver or source file. Try updating the graphics driver and testing software decoding.

Why the colours go wrong
AIX Player decodes video on your graphics chip by default, because it can take load off the processor. That work runs through the graphics driver. When a driver mishandles a particular format, the frames come out with their colours misread, which shows as a green or pink cast, or as coloured blocks on movement. The same file decoded on the processor takes a different path, which is why switching paths is the quickest test. Hardware acceleration explains the two paths.
Fix it step by step
- Update your graphics driver. Install the current driver for your NVIDIA, AMD, Intel or Snapdragon graphics; AIX Player’s Help page says where to get each one. Then play the video again.
- Turn off hardware decode. Open Settings → Video → Hardware decode and switch it off. With it off, the processor decodes the video instead of the graphics chip. If the colours are right now, the graphics path was the cause.
- Try hardware decode again after the next driver update. Hardware decode is on by default because the graphics chip can take load off the processor, so switch it back on once a newer driver is installed and check the same video.
- Check the file. If the same moment looks wrong in several players and on another PC, compare a fresh copy from the source. The corrupted file guide covers what to do.
Pale, grey or too dark, rather than green?
That is a different problem. An HDR film shown on an ordinary (SDR) screen looks flat or washed out unless it is fitted to the display, and AIX Player tone-maps HDR on an SDR screen for that reason. The washed-out HDR guide goes through it. HDR playback is part of AIX Pro, with a free allowance; see Free and Pro.
Wrong only on the TV?
