Download a video from a link
- Copy the link. A direct link to a video file, an HLS playlist (.m3u8) or an MPEG-DASH manifest (.mpd).
- Open Downloads in the sidebar, paste the link under Download from URL, then select Download.
- Pick the quality. Choose from the highest available down to 480p. If the exact quality is not offered, the closest match is chosen for you.
- When the download completes, use its Play button on the Downloads page to watch the saved file offline; HDR playback uses AIX Pro or the HDR trial.
What you can download
Live or unknown-duration input can start downloading, but stopping an unfinished recording removes its partial file; do not rely on that action to save a live recording. Downloads start from a link you paste: a direct media link, an HLS playlist or a DASH manifest. To watch a link now instead of saving it, open it as a stream.
Choosing a quality
The quality list runs from the highest quality the source offers down to 480p. A lower available rendition may reduce download size; quality, file size and completion time depend on the source and connection. If the quality you pick is not on offer for that video, AIX Player picks the closest match.
Watching without a connection
Completed files are stored in the app’s local Downloads folder, which is separate from the usual Windows Downloads folder. Open them with Play on the Downloads page. A downloaded video is saved on your PC, so you can watch it on a train, a plane or anywhere the connection is poor, in the same player as your other files.
